Shubbak WhatsApp ordering guide

A WhatsApp ordering system: your own order channel instead of scattered chats and app commissions

Across Saudi Arabia and the Gulf, many customers order from restaurants, cafes, supermarkets and pharmacies with a plain WhatsApp message. But regular WhatsApp was never built to run orders: chats pile up at rush hour, the address gets asked for twice, customers ask “where is my order?” every ten minutes, and nobody knows how much cash each driver holds until late at night.

Shubbak by Nazzem adds an operating layer on top of the WhatsApp number your customers already know: an instant reply with a fast digital menu link, an order page with items, options and a map pin, a live order board in the store, automatic customer updates, and driver dispatch with cash settlement per driver. It runs alongside your current POS rather than replacing it.

What we aim for: no orders lost in the rush, customers who know their order status without calling, drivers who know where to go, and an owner who gets a daily report on WhatsApp — while building a customer base of their own instead of paying commission on every repeat order.

WhatsApp ordering and delivery problems we solve

These problems show up in most stores that take delivery orders on WhatsApp or by phone, and they double at rush hour.

Messages lost at rush hour

Dozens of open chats at once, so replies are late or a whole order is forgotten — and the customer orders elsewhere.

Repeated questions eat staff time

“What's on the menu?”, “How much is delivery?”, “Where is my order?” Staff answer the same questions all day instead of preparing orders.

Order and address mistakes

Orders typed in a hurry, a forgotten add-on, an address described in words — so the driver calls the customer more than once.

Driver cash that doesn't add up

At the end of the shift nobody knows exactly how many orders each driver delivered or how much cash they should hand over, and gaps are found too late.

Commission on every repeat order

A regular customer who orders weekly through delivery apps costs you a share of every order, even though they know your store and order from you.

No clear numbers for the owner

How many orders today? What revenue? What sold most? Answering means piecing it together by hand from chats and receipts.

Shubbak WhatsApp ordering & delivery features

Built around the full order journey: from the customer's first message to settling each driver's cash at the end of the day.

Instant reply and a digital menu from WhatsApp

Every message to your number gets an instant reply from Shubbak with a fast menu link that opens on the phone — items, photos, sizes and add-ons, in Arabic and English.

  • Replies around the clock; outside hours it shows your opening times
  • Pause new orders with one tap when you're overwhelmed

A complete order page in one step

The customer picks items, chooses delivery or branch pickup, pins their location on the map and pays cash or card on delivery. Prices and delivery fees are calculated by the system, not by staff.

  • Delivery fees and minimum order by distance
  • Saved address for the next order

Live order board with a sound alert

New orders appear on the store's tablet or computer with a sound alert. Staff accept, set the prep time and move the order through: new, preparing, ready, out with driver, delivered.

Automatic customer updates

At each key step the customer gets a WhatsApp update: order accepted with the expected time, out with the driver, then delivered — so fewer calls and messages asking about status.

Drivers on WhatsApp, no app needed

Drivers receive the order details, a map link, the customer's number and the amount to collect on WhatsApp, then tap “Picked up” and “Delivered” and choose cash or card.

  • No app for drivers to install
  • Driver messages in Arabic or English

Cash settlement per driver

The system calculates the cash expected from each driver per shift, compares it with what they actually hand over, and shows any gap the same day.

Daily owner report on WhatsApp

When the business day closes, one message arrives: completed and rejected orders, revenue and average order, top items and each driver's cash. The business day follows your hours, even past midnight.

Alerts when an order waits too long

If an order stays unaccepted for a few minutes, the manager gets an alert and the customer gets a reassurance message, so no order is lost in the rush.

A customer base you own

Every customer who orders is saved with their number, address, order count and last order. With their consent you can send offers and win-back messages to those who stopped ordering.

Calories and allergens on the menu

Fields for calories, caffeine and allergens appear next to each item on the digital menu, helping you meet Saudi digital-menu requirements. Prices are shown VAT-inclusive.

Who is Shubbak for?

Any business that takes delivery or pickup orders on WhatsApp and wants them organized without relying fully on delivery apps.

Restaurants & cloud kitchens

High rush-hour volume, with sizes and add-ons that must be recorded accurately.

Cafes & coffee shops

Quick delivery or pickup orders, and customers who repeat the same order.

Supermarkets & groceries

Daily neighborhood orders and drivers covering several areas.

Pharmacies

Repeat delivery orders from regular customers, with every order accepted by the pharmacy before it leaves.

Bakeries & sweet shops

Seasonal and occasion peaks that need clear organization and confirmation.

Stores with their own drivers

Track every driver and their cash instead of relying fully on delivery apps and their commissions.

Shubbak: WhatsApp ordering & delivery system for Saudi Arabia, Egypt, the UAE, Qatar and Kuwait

The software runs in Arabic and English and in your currency, and where needed we connect it to a certified e-invoicing provider in your country so invoices are issued compliantly.

Saudi Arabia

Since 1 July 2025, restaurant and cafe menus — including digital menus and delivery apps — must show calories, caffeine, allergens and other details under SFDA rules, and the system's digital menu shows these fields for every item. Prices are shown to customers VAT-inclusive, and tax invoices come from your POS or a Fatoora-compliant e-invoicing solution that we connect orders to.

Egypt

Consumer sales fall under the Egyptian Tax Authority's e-receipt system and B2B sales under its e-invoice system. We connect to an approved channel or provider so receipts and invoices are issued where the transaction is recorded.

UAE

E-invoicing is mandatory from 1 January 2027 for businesses above AED 50 million in revenue and from 1 July 2027 for the rest, through an accredited service provider (ASP). We structure invoice data so it connects easily to the provider you choose.

Qatar

Qatar has no VAT in force yet; a draft e-invoicing law was approved in 2026 without a final timeline. The software runs in Qatari riyals and e-invoicing can be added once requirements are published.

Kuwait

Kuwait has no VAT or mandatory e-invoicing in force yet. The software runs in Kuwaiti dinars and issues organized invoices and receipts, and we add any e-invoicing integration as soon as official requirements are published.

Manual WhatsApp, delivery apps, or your own ordering system?

Three common ways to take delivery orders, each with a different cost. Many stores combine delivery apps with a channel of their own.

Manual WhatsAppDelivery appsShubbak by Nazzem
Commission per orderNoneA share of every orderFixed subscription, no commission
Customer data ownershipYours but scatteredUsually the app'sYours and organized

Drivers and cashManual check at day endThe app's driversYour drivers, with cash settled per shift
Reaching new customersLimitedStrong — the apps' main advantageThrough your ads, social accounts and number

Worked example: what does commission on your regulars cost?

A restaurant takes 30 delivery orders a day through apps at an average of SAR 60 with a 20% commission. Commission alone is SAR 12 per order — SAR 360 a day, or about SAR 10,800 a month. If a third of those orders come from regulars who already know the restaurant, they alone cost about SAR 3,600 a month in commission.

When those regulars move to the restaurant's own WhatsApp number through Shubbak — with a fast menu and automatic updates — the restaurant keeps both the order and the customer, for a fixed subscription plus WhatsApp message costs instead of a share of every order. Delivery apps remain a channel for winning new customers rather than the only route for every order.

Figures are illustrative to explain the calculation; commission rates vary by app, agreement and city.

How we roll out Shubbak in your store

We start with one branch and the core order flow, then add the rest after measuring results.

  1. 1

    Connect your WhatsApp number

We connect your store's WhatsApp Business number to Shubbak; in most cases you keep using the WhatsApp app on your phone with the same number.

  2. 2

    Menu and delivery zones

We load your items, prices and add-ons, and set delivery fees, minimum order by distance, and opening hours.

  3. 3

    Train cashiers and drivers

Short hands-on training on the order board, the driver buttons and cash settlement.

  4. 4

    Go live and follow up

We support the first days and measure acceptance speed, messages per order and cash accuracy, then add branches and campaigns.

How much does Shubbak, the WhatsApp ordering & delivery system, cost?

The price depends on the number of branches, daily order volume, number of drivers and integration with your current POS. It usually consists of a one-time set-up fee and a fixed monthly subscription, with no commission on orders.

WhatsApp Business messages are charged by Meta based on message type and the customer's country. We design the order journey to use as few messages as possible and show you the expected cost before you start.

Shubbak WhatsApp ordering FAQ

Do I need to change my WhatsApp number?

Usually not. We connect the WhatsApp Business number your customers already know to Shubbak, and in most cases you keep using the WhatsApp Business app on your phone with the same number for regular chats.

Is Shubbak a chatbot that talks to customers?

Not a general chatbot. Shubbak automatically answers the first message with the menu link and sends order updates; the order itself is placed on a clear menu page. Any other question goes to your staff to answer personally.

Do customers need to install an app?

No. Customers order from a link that opens in the browser from inside WhatsApp — no account and no app to install.

How do drivers receive orders?

On WhatsApp: they get the order details, a map link, the customer's number and the amount to collect, and confirm pickup and delivery with buttons in the chat.

Who pays for WhatsApp messages?

WhatsApp Business messages are charged by Meta based on message type and the customer's country. We show you the expected cost for your order volume before you start, and design the journey to use as few messages as possible.

Does it replace delivery apps?

Not necessarily. You can keep using apps to win new customers while moving your regulars to your own number to save commission and own their data.

Does it support online payment?

At first it supports cash or card on delivery; online payment links can be added later through the payment gateway you choose.

Does it work for multiple branches?

Yes. Each branch has its own hours, delivery zones and drivers, and the owner sees all branches and gets a report per branch.

Who owns the customer data?

Customer data belongs to your business, and we use it only to run your orders. Marketing messages are sent only to customers who agreed to receive them.
